Starting a business is like building a computer.
It’s complex, requires careful planning, and a willingness to troubleshoot problems. When setting up our company, we knew we needed every advantage we could get.
So we decided to register ourselves as a Certified Women-Owned Business. It promised exclusive business development opportunities, funding, and grants. Not to mention, major bragging rights.
It turns out the process is longer than we expected. The government is understandably thorough and requires a lot of documents for their review.
It will be worth it when we get certified though.
Being recognized as a women-owned business is a badge of honor. It’s also our stand against the gender inequality still prevalent in many industries.
