Getting enough sleep is a constant challenge. While trying to balance the demands of work and family life, I forgot to make it a priority.
Being sleep deprived didn’t only hinder my productivity, it affected everyone around me as well. Like on an airplane, I needed to wear my oxygen mask before assisting others.
So, I tried to get more sleep by setting a consistent bedtime. When it hit 10 pm, it was like the seatbelt sign switched on—I started to wind down.
A regular sleep routine made me feel energized and better equipped to tackle the day.
But on some nights, my son derailed my perfectly thought-out schedule. He woke up earlier than expected. I struggled to fall back asleep and felt groggy throughout the day. It was like hitting turbulence, it threw everything off-kilter.
I learned that I need to keep adjusting my sleep schedule depending on how bumpy the night is.
So, buckle up too, and make slow time a priority.
