Price design work like a pro: research, set standard rates, adapt as projects evolve to avoid financial surprises.

Pricing design work is like grocery shopping without a list. You try to wing it and grab whatever looks good without checking price tags.

But as you pile things in your cart, the cash register total leaves you questioning your life choices.

After years of undercharging and starving as a result, I tried fixing this habit. I did my research, analyzed how long jobs actually take, and set standard rates beyond just winging it hourly.

I was ready to set my pricing plan and feel like the Einstein of freelancing. Yeah, right.

Similar to those sneaky cravings that sneak into your basket, my projects had a knack for getting bigger and trickier. My carefully calculated offerings couldn't keep up with the expanding demands.

My bill turned into a never-ending checkout lane, revealing surprise after surprise. Who wants to be a millionaire? Not me, apparently.

As freelancers, we must regularly reevaluate and tweak our charges as projects evolve. Staying adaptable is the real deal, so those financial shocks don't hit harder than a rogue trolley.
