While I’ve done quite a bit of research on this subject, I by no means consider myself an expert. I am simply a blogger with a BIG appetite for anything SEO and Google Page Rank definitely falls in line with all of my SEO efforts. So I set out to understand what the term means and how it impacts the “search ability” of my website.
What is Page Rank?
With Page Rank your website or web page is given a score from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best. Those numbers are basically a way for Search Engines to identify the most relevant content based on your search.
Who Cares About Page Rank?
Here’s what I’ve found: In the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) community, there are two teams with completely opposed views. The first team is firm believers in PageRank and actively works to add links back to their website and pages. They spend quite a bit of time laboring to link back to their website from authority sites or ones with rather high PageRank. The opposing side does not agree with this method. They instead encourage bloggers to ignore PageRank completely and instead focus on building a solid & fully optimized website with great content.So here’s my take. While it’s never a bad idea to stay on top of your Google PageRank, the unsurpassed superstar of SEO & Page Rank is still content. Readers continue to flock to a well-designed, eye pleasing and excellently written website and blog.
